The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) - thanks to the Forest Service - is providing an informative, hands-on workshop for the identification, regulation and management of Emerald Ash Borer in Rochester, St. Paul and Duluth for FREE!!! Click here for locations, dates and details. Use this workshop for your own objectives or to help in discovering new infestations as these insects take over and kill millions of our native ash trees. Note that this workshop is entirely outdoors so be prepared and bring your own pair of binoculars if you have any.

The St. Paul Tree Advisory Panel (TAP) invites anyone and everyone to a fun night of tree trivia at a favorite St. Paul brewing company, Tin Whiskers (125th E 9th St. Unit 127, St. Paul, MN 55101, (651) 330-4734)! Trivia will begin at 7 p.m. on Jan 24th and continue until all the questions are asked and a 1st and 2nd place champion are crowned.
What is the meaning behind this method of outreach to the public, re: trivia in a bar!?!? Everyone knows trees are integral to our world, our life and our environment but is everyone aware that even our local, city trees have a role and are necessary in our urban environment? Homeowners, not just beaurecrats need to know about trees and need to SPEAK FOR THE TREES!!! The goal of the night is to have fun and get everyone thinking about trees, learning at least one new thing about trees and go home with a new perspective on the importance of trees in our urban environment.
